Maine’s Department of Environmental Protection has issued a memorandum regarding UST Operator Training. The State has published draft rules (Chapter 693), which are open to public comment through 5:00 pm EST, July 16. Chapter 693 requires all operators to be trained and certified by January 1, 2011. In addition, the draft rules require that the certified Class A or B Operator inspect the UST facility at least weekly.
