Are you going to the 15th Annual CUPA Conference? The California Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) Forum Board in association with the California Environmental Protection Agency, it’s boards, offices and departments; the Office of the State Fire Marshal and CalEMA will hold its 15th Annual California Unified Program Conference on February 4 – 7, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency, Garden Grove in Orange County.
TAIT returns to the conference this year to meet with the agencies, businesses and communities we serve. We will be presenting on Commodities Studies and RP1200 at the conference.
Hazardous Materials Commodity Flow Studies will be presented by Scott Brehmer and Paul McCarter.
Mr. Brehmer is a Vice President at Tait Environmental Services and has over 12 years of consulting experience. He holds a bachelors degree in Biochemistry from UCLA and a masters degree in environmental epidemiology. He is also a Certified Industrial Hygenist and a Certified Safety Professional. He has been responsible for the preparation of numerous Area Plans and Commodities Studies under the HMEP Grant Program since 2006.
Mr. McCarter is a Senior Project Manager and Senior Geologist at Tait Environmental Services and has over 35 years of experience as a geologist in the mining and consulting industries. He holds a BSc. Degree in Geology from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario and an MS degree in Geology from Oregon State University. He is registered as a Professional Geologist in five states. In addition to consulting in environmental assessment and remediation, Mr. McCarter is also responsible for the preparation of Area Plans and Commodities Studies under the HMEP Grant Program. He has managed the preparation of Area Plans for Imperial, Stanislaus, and Tulare Counties. He recently managed and prepared the Hazardous Materials Commodities Flow Study for the Kern County Fire Department. This study included the collection of field data on transportation routes through the county and the synthesis of data into a comprehensive report, which was completed in 2012.
PEI Recommended Practice 1200 Recommended Practices for the Testing and Verification of Spill, Overfill, Leak Detection and Secondary Containment Equipment at UST Facilities, will be presented by Brian Harmon.
Mr. Harmon is the Regulatory Affairs Manager at Tait Environmental Services. He started testing tanks in 1983 and has worked in various states. Now he interprets environmental regulations and tracks proposed legislation to help clients understand and comply with regulatory requirements now and in the future. Brian was on the committee that authored the newly published PEI Recommended Practice 1200 Recommended Practices for the Testing and Verification of Spill, Overfill, Leak Detection and Secondary Containment Equipment at UST Facilities.
