USEPA has released an 8-page report provides a snapshot of national underground storage tank program activities during fiscal year 2009. The report contains information regarding: tank program highlights in 2009; advances in preventing releases; progress in cleaning up leaks; LUST Recovery Act; a look ahead for next year; and a letter to UST stakeholders.
On a related note, the 2005 Energy Policy Act requires each State to develop its own UST Operator Training Program including a provision that all operators are certified by their state by August 2012.
